Short Wedge Boots

Black Friday Goes Fast

I was contemplating buying these Rachel Comey patterned tie-up booties for $149.95 (were $518) from Anthropologie when I saw them on sale after midnight last night, not realizing they were actually $75 (!!! - extra 50% off all sale items until 11 am today, and 25% off until Sunday; note that discount is taken at register, so it will be another half off the initial price you see) but this morning they are gone (though these lace up sandals, not really my style, are still around and reduced from $358 to $49.98!!!). I guess you have to move fast with Black Friday sales. Check out a fairly comprehensive list of sales on Salebite, though it is missing 30% off sales at Dusen Dusen, Pour Porter and Tobi.

Feral Childe

The photos aren't great quality, but I like independent "green" designer Feral Childe's chain print from last season. Above, Turbine Jean in size medium for $80 (were $150) at Mission Savvy, and leggings at Kaight for $40 (were $88). I also like their pig t-shirt, at Jute & Jackfruit for $39 (was $52).

Reserve Sales from Refinery29

The sale part of fashion site Refinery29 has been on a role this week. First vouchers for a Loeffler Randall sample sale (sold out), then $50 off $100 at Steven Alan (buy the voucher before November 22nd), and now a $110 voucher for $55 at Mary Meyer (expires November 16).

Yellow Shoes

Another Outnet clearance sale is upon us, through Monday. Hundreds of things are 85% off, including Marni, Twenty8Twelve, Helmut Lang, etc. The See By Chloe top I recently posted about is now $27 (was $180). These yellow Sigerson Morrison mules are $69.75 (were $465).

Ivana Helsinki Sample Sale

Calling all size twos: the relatively new independent designer clearinghouse that I keep mentioning, Fashionstake, is currently hosting a sample sale for amazing Finnish designer Ivana Helsinki, in runway sizes, where everything is $75. Apparently they are on the small end of size 2, but that didn't stop me from getting this horse-print dress for $60 (I had a coupon -- maybe I can alter it if need be?) I've wanted since I saw it at the Ivana Helsinki's pop-up shop in Nolita last year. The horse dress is sold out, but there's still (slightly more forgiving?) leggings in various colors and this chain-print skirt with an elastic waist (both originally $259).

Boots

The first of what will surely be several posts this season about Rachel Comey boots on sale. I am seriously considering these marbled barbaro booties for $239 at Forward (originally $341), available only in a size 9. Code "Tulip" takes an extra 10% off, bringing the price to $215.10.

Wardrobe Staple

This A.P.C. cotton tulip-patterned tunic is one of my favorite shirts. There's one right now on eBay in a size medium with a starting bid of $19.99 (A.P.C. shirts usually run for about $150 new) and nearly 6 days left.

Baggu

I've been meaning to post about Mociun's collaboration with Baggu, which a stylish friend alerted me to a while back. I have the tiles print, but there's also symbols and blocks (zigzag is sold out), each $12. I also love Baggu's new reasonably priced leather totes in the same simple shape. Most of the big ones (for $150) are already sold out, but platinum is still available (and hopefully more in apricot and black are on the way). Since bigger always seems to be better for me and bags, I also kind of want an extra large nylon one in this neon shade. You can also get about about 25 Baggu bags or a million other awesome things for half off at TENOVERSIX right now, which is having another buy $100, get $200 deal with Refinery29.

More Outnet

This weekend the Outnet is offering an extra 40% off most clothing with prints. Sadly this does not include the coveted Marni skirt below, but many other finely printed things. I like this See by Chloe top for $48 (was $81, originally $180), above, but there are a ton of other things from which to choose, from the loud to the sublime.

African Prints

Beautiful colorful African prints (dark and light ones are for specific mourning or celebratory purposes, but colorful ones are for general use, I've been told by a reliable source), the latter two made through (ostensibly at least somewhat equitable) trans-Atlantic collaborations. Trapeze dress by LBD workshop $160 from Vagabond; stunning Suno skirt made in Kenya on sale for $119 at Opening Ceremony with code ADDITIONAL20 through Labor Day (was $495 -- other amazing Suno made slightly more affordable on sale through their online store and at Opening Ceremony); and Ghanaian wax print cotton tunic/dress designed by Osei-Duro and made in Ghana by the Dzidefo Women’s Cooperative, on sale for $78 (was $130) from Pour Porter.

Creatures of Comfort

Amazing retailer Creatures of Comfort's own line of silk and linen basics are now up to 75% off. While it's the last of the summer sale, some of these pieces could be good layers for school/work, like this pebbled silk t-shirt for $63.75 (was $255, also available as a tank top in black for $47.50, down from $190). I also like this post-work silk low back dress for $83.75 (was $335, also in "papaya").

Bird Warehouse Sale

For those who can go to the Bird warehouse sale in Brooklyn, I envy you. For the rest of us, it seems like they have some of it online. I like this Tsumori Chisato t-shirt for $89 (was $356), and these Suno x Loeffler Randall sandals for $109 (were $460). There are some nice non-crazy patterned things on sale (here and here, for example) too.

I keep gravitating toward oxfords, but they never seem to work with my wardrobe or look good on my feet. I still want them though.
