Post-Christmas

More sales, and sales on sales. As per usual Salebite has a good list, but one notable sale is 40% all clothing and shoes online at Beklina with code 40clothshoe. I like, from above, this Electric Feathers shiny top, $54 (was $360!); this amazing rope-patterned Hui Hui blouse for $174 (was $290); and this Rachel Comey sweater, $132 (was $440).

Socks

Generally I prefer to avoid socks at all costs, but I have gradually made exceptions for Hansel from Basel. They are having another warehouse sale, where socks and tights are up to 85% off. I have the scallop crew socks, $3 (were $18) and the wool rib tights $7 (were $36). Note: the tights run small.

Sample Sale Time

Four of my favorite stores and brands are having sample sales in New York this week, and, needless to say, I'm not there. First up is Creatures of Comfort Wednesday December 12 and Thursday December 13, 11-7, at 70/80 Kenmare St. between Mulberry and Mott, and Rachel Comey, Wednesday 10-8 and Thursday 10-6 at 268 Mulberry St. Next is Loeffler Randall on Thursday and Friday December 13/14 from 10-7 at 525 Broadway. And last but not least is Opening Ceremony on Friday and Saturday 11-8 and Sunday 11-7 at 76 Mercer St. For those of us not able to partake, Opening Ceremony's online sale section will be 60% off tomorrow, Wednesday, and Creatures of Comfort will undoubtedly begin its online/in-store sale, which generally reaches 70%, sometime soon. In the meantime I feel your pain.

Thanksgiving Sales Wish List

I didn't have internet for most of the week, which probably saved me a bundle of money, but there are still many good Thanksgiving sales in effect. Steven Alan Sample Sale Time

The Steven Alan sample sale officially starts tomorrow, but if you like them on Facebook you can get a code to access it now. As per usual there are a lot of good things for pretty reasonable prices, including many under $100. I like, from above, this gray and red grid reverse seam flannel shirt for $58 (was $168); this silk flowery blouse for $78 (was $225 -- there are more sizes left in the equally tempting solid colors); and this red and blue checked reverse seam shirt for $58 (was $158). There are also a lot of nice things from non-Steven Alan brands, like this tan sweater from Whit for $50 (was $245), and this awesome Ace & Jig dress for $75 (was $189). I think there is a brick and mortar sample sale in New York somewhere for those of you in nyc.

Sweaters

I don't know about you, but where I am the forecast for the foreseeable future is rain. The idea of cozying up in one of these sweaters makes the weather slightly more palatable. From top, two-tone wool cardigan by Stine Goya miraculously still available and on sale at (heretofore unbeknownst to me but seemingly awesome) online store Founders and Followers for $172 (was $410, see better photos here) with code FOFLSH12 (30% off everything) through Sunday, October 28; Stine Goya's awesome version of a cable-knit sweater, in gray wool, also on sale at F&F with code FOFLSH12 for $115 (was $330); and the sold out but still perpetually coveted Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony animal-print cardigan on eBay in a size large with a starting price of $9.99, one bid, and 3 days 21 hours left (originally retailed at at least $300+). For the stripes and polka-dot set, all of Cardigan's non-sale sweaters (cardigans and non-cardigans alike) are 40% off through October 31 with code LUCKYBREAKS6.

Bags

Like most everything, it's hard to find a great bag when you need one. I could currently use a black bag, but all I see are browns (and red). From top, brown suede tote by Wolcott : Takemoto at Anaïse for $184 (was $368); beautiful red and camel bag by Philip Lim on eBay for $200 with zero bids and 7 hours left; and Eileen Fisher brown leather bag, also on eBay, for $250 or best offer with 19 days left. I actually have this bag, and it is gigantic and pretty amazing. There are also a lot of leather bags on super sale at Yoox -- use code BYESUMMER@YOOX for an extra 10% off until September 25.

Raw Silk

I like the more casual feel and texture. Not super cheap, but more useful than the slippery silk. Beige dress by A Détacher at Anaïse for $201 (was $670) in a size 4 and 8; blue top by SF-based boutique Gravel & Gold for $100 (was $140).

Shoe Sale

Is it weird to have three pairs of the same shoes? The Solestruck sale -- an extra 40% off all sale shoes,  making this Rachel Comey pair $104 (were $344) -- is forcing me to contemplate this question, as I already have the pair below in nude and red. There are towering heels and studded flats galore, along with a few less out-there pieces by Comey, Acne, and Jeffrey Campbell (I like the Arizona model, which comes in a bunch of cool colors). Jewels

All sale items at Beklina are an extra 40% off today only with code 1crazyday40. Even though they seemed to have raised some of the sale prices for the occasion, I like these gold plated and black lacquer earrings, $42 (were $95), and this lacquer and leather cuff, $51 (was $115).

Clutch

Brown leather clutch with white upside-down "v" pattern, $40 (was $140) with code EXTRA40 at Need Supply. There are some good jeans on sale too.

Fall Colors

Via the summer Barney's Warehouse sale -- hitting New York in a few weeks but starting online now. From above, Aesa brass earrings $169 (originally $415); Acne wool skirt $79 (was $210); and Barneys Co-op brand patent leather flats  $99 (were $250).

Ace & Jig

I was ambivalent about Ace & Jig's airy cotton pieces until this season, when I became obsessed with the brand's "antique gauze" print (top picture, below) and sure enough wear the shirt I have in it constantly. The Ace & Jig sample sale underway at Of a Kind has a lot of pieces in antique gauze and other patterns/colors. The racerback tank is $45 (was $115) in limited sizes, but there are more options with the weekend dress for $80 (was $200). Things have sold out even during the course of this post, confirming that it's going fast.

Best Skirt

Someone buy this skirt! Rachel Comey silk and wool knee-length skirt in a brownish orange basket weave print for $40 on eBay with 1 bid and only 11 hours left. I have this same skirt in another color and it is awesome. Mine is a medium, so I think the small would work best for a size 2-4.

Gray Dress

This gray twill asymmetrical dress by Clemens en August, $118 (was $740), and a bunch of other things are still around and up to 85% off at the Outnet clearance sale, through Tuesday.

Summer Sales

Have reached 50% off. From Totokaelo, I like, from above, this blue suede Wood Wood bag for $97.50 (was $195), these slightly cropped light blue jeans from Court for $58.50 (were $117), and these No. 6 boots for $195 (were $390). There are also half-off sales at Creatures of Comfort, Need Supply Co., and La Garconne, among others. 

J.Crew Sale

All sale items are an extra 40% off through Wednesday, July 18 with code OURTREAT. I was about to buy a bathing suit when I realized it was final sale. Maybe the shoes -- like these green suede sandals for $78 (were $198) -- are less risky.

Closings and Next Steps

SF stalwart Metier is closing today. There are a few things left online, like these Rachel Comey loafers for $95 (were $380) and a Suno dress for $87 (was $343). They will maintain an online presence for jewelry for the time being. In New York, JF & Son is also closing their storefront -- to work on a great-sounding residency at the Museum of Art and Design -- but maintaining their online shop. While in-store sales are bigger at 70% off, signing up for emails will take an extra 30% off items already on sale online, bringing this cotton and chiffon top to $100 (was $212). 

Beklina Sale

From today through Friday, all non-sale clothing at Beklina is 45% off with code 45seaweed. These silk and hemp patterned pants are $170 (were $310).

Triangles

Much-profiled interior designer Kelly Wearstler now designs clothing, and many of her patterned pieces are on sale at Otte. With an extra 40% off with code TWOSCOOPS thru July 4, this skirt, above, is now $82 (was $195). Lots of other things on sale too.

Steven Alan Sample Sale!

If you are a fan of Steven Alan you should head to their website immediately, as their semi-annual sample sale has commenced. Almost everything seems to be from the current season but at 65% off. I like, from above, this kitschy baseball-player silk shirt for $78 (was $225), this black linen dress by 8.15 August Fifteenth for $60 (was $238), this cotton knit cardigan from Le Mont St. Michel for $129 (was $295), and this denim shirtdress for $89 (was $198), but there are a ton of less weirdly patterned Steven Alan shirts from $58 and a host of dress for $99-129. There are also some Rachel Comey pieces, Ariana Bohling sandals, perfume, etc. Tons of men's stuff too. Ends June 22.

Winter Boots

This may not be seasonally appropriate, at all, but now may be the moment to snap up No. 6's shearling-lined clog boots on sale. Both the dark brown pair and tan lace-ups are $270 (were $450, that's 40% off) at Boston/online store Stel's with a bunch of sizes still available.

Dress

Pretty gray and purple silk dress in a size 4 from Sea New York for $47.20 or best offer on eBay with nine days left (their things run for $200+, this was carried at Barneys). Plus 85% of the price goes to Dress for Success (which helps provide professional clothing for women in need) in Oregon. A good purchase in all possible ways!

Beklina Prints

There are some great patterns on sale at Beklina right now. I like, from above, this amazing cotton blouse by E. Factor for $130 (was $260); this silk and hemp linen dress by Lina Rennell for $90 (was $310, sadly the other two patterns are sold out); and this shirt by Mociun for $90 (was $165).

Top

I like this xs Rachel Comey top currently on eBay for $74.99 with no bids and nine days left (and a buy-it-now option of $95; I think originally $345) -- seems good for work or play. There's also a size large dress in a similar Rachel Comey print at TwentyThirtyForty.net for $213 (was $426).
